Course description

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Paper 1 is a highly competitive exam in India for admission to undergraduate engineering programs. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and serves as a gateway to prestigious engineering colleges such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other central and state institutions. The exam tests students' proficiency in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. It is conducted in a computer-based format and held multiple times a year. Each subject is equally weighted, contributing to a total score of 300 marks. The duration of the exam is three hours, with 90 questions divided equally among the three subjects. Questions are a mix of multiple-choice and numerical-based types. Negative marking is applied for incorrect answers in the multiple-choice section. The syllabus aligns with the NCERT curriculum of classes 11 and 12, making preparation rigorous. Candidates must have completed or be appearing for their Class 12 exams to be eligible. A good performance in JEE Main is essential for qualifying for JEE Advanced, which leads to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Preparing effectively for the exam requires strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Mock tests and past papers play a crucial role in exam readiness. The JEE Main score is also considered by some universities for direct admissions.
